Core Competencies for Afterschool Professionals

The Core Competencies for Afterschool Professionals are the foundation of a comprehensive professional development system designed to identify and serve the diverse needs of afterschool professionals. The Competencies are flexible in nature and are intended to be utilized by all professionals in the afterschool workforce, whether one is working full-time or a few hours per week. Each Competency area sets forth standards and ways to identify and work toward essential points of learning in the afterschool field.
